“Grassical” Music – Bluegrass with a Classical Edge!

Saturday, January 19, 2019 – 7:30pm

“Grassical Music”—a combination of bluegrass and classical music, with elements of jazz, blues, swing, and rock mixed in. The core of the band is made up of 4 brothers (one lives locally), classically trained and with more awards between them than it’s possible to list. Alex is a classical violinist as well as a rock musician and an award-winning fiddler. Wallace is presently assistant concertmaster of the Philly Pops. Jason is a member of the first violin section of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and Zach is currently concertmaster for the Indianapolis Symphony. Add to that world-class percussionist and principal tympanist of The Philadelphia Orchestra, Don Liuzzi and IBMA 2013 Banjo Player Of The Year Mike Munford, and esteemed bassist Kevin MacConnell, and what you get is a unique, high energy take on traditional music. The DePues were named “Musical Family Of America” by a presidential decree, were the subject of a PBS documentary, and Jason and Zach were featured in the film Music From The Inside Out.
